I made this Peanut butter pie thinking it would taste a lot like a peanut butter cup. But in the end it just didn't. The peanut flavor wasn't peanut-y enough. And the chocolate wasn't chocolate-y enough. So I don't know if I will ever try this pie again, because I'm not sure how to fix these problems. On a positive note, it was a pretty pie. And you can see the peanut butter cups on the top. Mmm.
It is such a disappointment to have a peanut butter dessert that doesn't taste peanut buttery enough!
ReplyDeleteMay I recommend the Cook's Country Peanut Butter Pie? It is a big hit in my house. I think I like the variation recipe even better, "Peanut Butter Pie with Chocolate Graham Crust". Basically both of their recipes have the exact same filling, but one uses regular graham crackers for the crust and one uses chocolate graham crackers. We liked both, but the chocolate graham crust a little better. Anyway, if you need a more peanut buttery filling (and of course it should be all that!), I can heartily recommend this recipe! It is super peanut buttery and I thought it was just perfect.

ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! I started making that Cooks Country recipe about a year ago and it's the best thing on God's Green Earth!!! You've got good taste my friend. That is such a good filling. And their graham cracker crust recipe is really yummy too.
